Here’s a list with Santorini’s popular hiking routes that you can enjoy starting from our property.
Fira to Oia
Distance: 12 km
Approx. 3 hours duration
This is the most popular hiking path of the island because of the amazing views of the Caldera.
Start the hike from our property and head to the cable car where the path starts. You will pass through Firsotefani village first and then from Imerovigli and Skaros rock.
These two villages are known for the white washed buildings, the breathtaking views and the blue dome churches. Take a few minutes to take some pictures and enjoy the spectacular views.
You will see several signs on the road to show you the way to Oia and the remaining time of the trail.
Moving along the different villages and the heights of the path will give you the opportunity to see the volcano and the surrounding islands from different perspectives.
You can start from Fira or from Oia and walk the trail both ways or just walk the path one way and take the bus or a taxi back.
Skaros rock & Imerovigli
Distance: 5,3 km from Fira town
Approx. 1 1/2 hour duration
Skaros Rock is the large rock formation located in Imerovigli and definitely one of the most beautiful spots of the island.
The fortress of Skaros offered protection from the pirates that conquered the coasts of the Aegean Sea during the late Middle Ages.
Its gifted position offered panoramic views on the shores and the connection with the rest of the village was feasible through a mobile wooden bridge.
Start your tour from our hotel and head toward to Firostefani. Walk further to Imerovigli village and the church of Saint George where the path to the remains of Skaros begin.
From here you can admire the natural beauty and the breathtaking views as you walk along the rim of the Caldera. You also get to admire the island and the volcanic Caldera from a completely different perspective. And of course you can enjoy a spectacular sunset from this spot.
Fira centre to the old port of Santorini
Distance: 1,5 km (mainly stairs)
Approx. 30 minutes duration
A trail that connects the old port with the capital of Fira. This trail consist of approximately 500 wide steps and scenic views to the volcanic Caldera.
We suggest this particular one as a morning work out.
Walk down the trail and catch the cable car back. Or the opposite.
At the old port or “Mesa Gialos” you will find a couple of fish taverns and some souvenir shops. You can also find the traditional wooden boats “kaiki” there and sail to the volcano and the hot springs.

Kamari black beach to Ancient Thera site
Distance: 2,5 km
Approx. 40 minutes duration
Kamari is one of the most popular black sand beaches on the island.
Follow the route that will take you up to the Ancient Thera. There you will explore the ruins from the Hellenistic era include remnants from the Roman and Byzantine eras.
Walk the short main street to glimpse what’s left of two agoras, several Greek temples, shops, Roman baths, Byzantine walls, and a church.
Finally admire the breathtaking views from the top and take in a deep breath of fresh air.
Ancient Thera to Perissa beach
Distance: 2 km
Approx. 30 minutes duration
This hiking trail is similar to the previous one as regards to the views. The starting point is the ruins of the Ancient Thera.
This will lead you to Perissa black beach through a rocky road where you can end your hike and swim at the crystal clear waters.
