This special evening takes place on Tuesday, July 7, from 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The venue is Rizes Gastro Taverna, which is conveniently located in Fira right opposite the Metropolitan Cathedral, making it just a short, scenic stroll from Athina Luxury Suites. The price is ninety euros per person, which includes a full six-course degustation menu and matching premium wine pairings.

Why This Event is a Must-Do During Your Fira Stay
Santorini’s volcanic soil creates some of the most distinct, mineral-forward wines in the world, while its sun-drenched microclimate yields incredibly flavorful produce. This event acts as a curated tour of that unique ecosystem.
Executive Chef Alexandros Makropoulos and Head Chef Maria Sylla have crafted a contemporary Greek menu using premium, local ingredients, including vine leaves sourced straight from the island’s Kissiras Farm. To elevate each dish, Sommelier Apostolos Maras has hand-selected six legendary labels from Santo Wines to tell the story of the Cyclades through your glass.

The Six-Course Degustation Menu and Pairings
The evening kicks off with a “Rooted Spritz,” a signature welcome cocktail mixed by Head Bartender Marios Popa that blends traditional Greek tsipouro, bright bergamot, fresh thyme, and sparkling Assyrtiko.
From there, you will journey through six distinct chapters of local flavor. For the welcome, the Rooted Spritz is paired with Santo Wines Brut Sparkling Assyrtiko. Next is the meze course, featuring house-made taramasalata with Greek bottarga and delicate dolmadakia made with fresh Kissiras Farm vine leaves, paired with Santo Wines Santorini Assyrtiko.
The journey continues to the sea with a refined fish fricassee paired with Santo Wines Nykteri, a traditional oak-aged white. For the land course, a rich, slow-cooked lamb giouvetsi is served alongside Santo Wines Mandilaria red wine. This is followed by a cheese course showcasing a selection of Greek artisanal cheeses paired with Santo Wines Grande Reserve Assyrtiko. Finally, the night concludes with a traditional dessert prepared with local ingredients, perfectly paired with the island’s world-famous, sun-dried dessert wine, Santo Wines Vinsanto.
