The 66th meeting of the UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organisation) Regional Commission is scheduled to be held in Athens from the 2nd to 4th of June 2021.

An event of global interest.

The main purpose is to discuss the opportunities and the challenges that tourist sector is facing right now; also to define the actions and the measures that need to be adopted at a pan-European level for the recovery of tourism after the Covid-19 pandemic.

During the 66th meeting a thematic conference entitled “Sustainable coastal and maritime tourism in Mediterranean: Challenges and opportunities in the post-Covid era” will be held.

An additional project of the meeting is to plan the embodiment of the initiatives into to UNWTO Action Plan that will be discussed later on in 2021.

Greece is trusted to host this year’s meeting of the UNWTO for Europe.

Our country was also placed 4th in the list of the 10 most popular destinations among the Europeans for tourism.

In particular the island of Santorini received high praise at the 2020 Global Traveler Awards, being singled out for top awards in several categories.

These factors give us great hope for a better tourism season and a step forward closer to normality. All hotels in Greece are getting ready to open and welcome guests from all over the world. Our hotel is already prepared to open around mid April with exclusive offers for all our loyal guests.
